COURSE INTRODUCTION

  • Urban environmental design course

    Aiming to build an environment that can be connected to the ever-changing modern society, students will learn specialized knowledge in urban design, town planning, civic design, and information design.

  • architectural design course

    We design relationships between people and space that are appropriate for modern times. Learn how to create a rich space by aligning functionality, region, structure, environment, SDGs, and comfort.

  • Interior design course

    You will learn the knowledge and specific methods necessary for architecture and interior design, from the basics of planning to spatial composition and presentation to give shape to your image.

  • craft design course

    Experience craftwork such as pottery and woodwork used in craft designs. Learn about the characteristics of materials and gain experience in specific modeling processes.

  • Product design course

    We focus on the design of things that can be mass-produced, from household goods to vehicles. We aim to become product designers who explore the possibilities of design and are well versed in product development.

    SOTA AKIYAMA

    Learn architecture from multiple angles
    My interests have expanded

    In this department, we consider how people living in cities can live comfortably and study architecture from multiple perspectives. As I deepened my studies in architecture, my interest expanded to include interior design, lighting, and artwork, and I developed the habit of designing spaces on a daily basis. After joining the laboratory, I began to actively interact with architecture students from other schools, and as a result, I was able to objectively understand my current situation.

    MITSUHIRO MATSUMORI

    In collaboration with olive farmers
    Build a local specialty store.

    I transferred to this department from an architectural school, and as I deepened my studies of urban environments and architectural theory, I was able to think about building design from a more complex perspective. Particularly impressive was the industry-academia collaboration exercise with Narawaen that worked on regional revitalization. I conducted a site survey in an olive grove, and based on the opinions of farmers and government officials, I designed the antenna shop that I had proposed. I feel that the practical learning that is rooted in the local community was of great use in my graduation research, which focused on the redevelopment of station squares.

Based on field surveys, we explore design methods and design conditions that aim to create spaces that are more frequently used.

  • Mihiko Yoshihara Laboratory

    We are researching the ideal form of space suitable for the coming era. We survey buildings, animals, plants, food, etc. from a spatial perspective. We put theories and methods together by combining IT tools such as planning and environmental simulation, and put them into practice in society by designing and completing stores through industry-academia collaboration.
